the value of renting a room
Currently, the advantage of renting a room is an instant move in various places in a short time. However, this is utilised by a limited age groups, periods, and lifestyles. Furthermore, the form of usual rooms might be a homogeneous cube in many cases. Due to this, it is common in Japan that owned houses in certain place are preferred as a choice for the future.
This proposes, nevertheless, ‘lifelong residential’ in which people could ubiquitously and shortly live for the rest of their lives, as the architectural forms adapt people’s diverse lifestyles by using futuristic material ‘ER fluid’.

Urban Dynamic Equilibrium
Tokyo, particularly in Ikebukuro area, seems that the city is evolving because of whirlwind transformations. This is speculated that the city becomes stable from 'dismantlement and supplement' like the biological concept of dynamic equilibrium where elements are exchanged.
There is the issue of decadence in residential area in comparison to adjusting vibrant commercial area. This could be attributed to fraction between a long term inhabitation and stimulating nature of Ikebukuro with consumption.

ER fluid : recyclable concrete
ER fluid is an an electrically insulating fluid which transforms its viscosity in response to an electric field. The further experiment of this might lead to the futuristic material as recyclable concrete. This deformable material will enable to instantly and freely construct and re-construct people's inhabitable space adapting to their lifestyles.

lifelong residential
The transformable complex followed by dynamic equilibrium is proposed in the empty block in residential area in Ikebukuro. This promotes shuffling of people due to instant deformation of architectural forms. Additionally, the complex will be medium to intrigue people to the area by means of skills and knowledge of dwellers.
